Graduation Ceremony 2016
On 27 Sep 2016, the Graduation Ceremony was conducted to honour and celebrate the graduating students’ time in Woodgrove Secondary School.
The students were treated to an array of memories of their time in Woodgrove from their Secondary One days. It was also a chance for the teachers and the rest of the students to offer their final wishes to the graduating students right before they embark on the next stage of their journey.
The Graduation Ceremony was also the time to recognise the valedictorians of the different streams. Law Zi Rou, 4T1, shared with her cohort on how she worked hard and kept moving forward to achieve success despite the setbacks that she experienced during her PSLE, while Joy Ho, 4N2, reflected on how her participation in the various school and class events made a tremendous difference for her, as it strengthened the bonds with her classmates. Jordan Lian, 4E1, highlighted the impact that his CCA, the Symphonic Band, had on him, as well as the enriching experience he has being part of the Student Council Executive Committee.
Their message to their peers were truly inspirational and encourages their peers to keep striving despite the odds in order to achieve their goals. The Graduation Ceremony is a symbolic moment for the graduating students to mark the end of one chapter of their lives and the start of another.
It is also a time to remind the students to constantly work towards their goals. In the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
