Bonding with Family …. Connecting with Community
On the morning of 8 Sept 2012, 38 parents, teachers and students embarked on a two hour heartwarming community visit to Sunshine Welfare Action Mission (SWAMI) Home at Sembawang Walk. The SWAMI Home has about 240 residents in their Nursing Home and Day Care Centre.
This self-initiated CIP project by the Parent Support Group aims to spread our love and concern for the community. It is also a time for parent-child bonding and makes way for good role modeling by the parents.

We started the morning with a dance performance for some 60 residents of the Home. Our emcees for the day, Joyce and Jesslyn, also entertained the residents by singing many of the Chinese oldies. The residents were so engaged that they clapped along to the songs as well. One or two residents even took on the microphone bravely to perform as well.

After the performance, our parents, teachers and students conducted an art and crafts session and played Bingo with the residents. We interacted with them and gave each resident a goodie bag at the end of the event. This event was a good opportunity for us to spread our love and concern for the community.
