4th NIE-AHES Home Economics Symposium 2012 Home Economics Literacy for the 21st Century Skills

Mrs Priscilla Ong and Ms Adila presented the Innovation and Improvement project during the concurrent session of the Home Economics Symposium on 4 September 2012. They shared with fellow teachers on using Inquiry-Based Learning in lower secondary Home Economics coursework to improve aesthetic appeal of food presentation.

The teachers shared how they get students to research on the diet related diseases and modify/ create recipes, design a food model, innovate and create a meal suitable for an individual with the diet related disease for their coursework, do a write-up and conduct an oral presentation. During the presentation, participants get to see and touch samples of food models and write-up created by students.
