SYF Celebrations @ Causeway Point on 9 July 2016
This year, SYF celebrates its 50-year heritage with the theme YOUTHforia!. The theme is about encouraging youths to act on their inspirations and dreams to achieve their ideals and a promising future.
The celebrations were held at four malls across Singapore. The theme for the team at Causeway Point was Street Culture. The audience and shoppers were treated to an afternoon of street dance, street music, street fashion and street art experience.

Our Chinese Orchestra drummers were invited to perform as part of the opening percussion showcase to welcome the Guest of Honour, Dr Lim Wee Kiak. This was truly a memorable learning experience for our student participants as they were exposed to traditional Malay and Indian drum rhythms through the use of the kompangs and the tabla.
Working together with kompang players from Yio Chu Kang Secondary and Chong Boon Secondary as well as the solo tabla player from Victoria School was enriching and meaningful as our students deepened their understanding of music of other cultures.
