2015 National Day Awards

During the 2015 National Day Awards, our Vice-Principal Mdm Masayu and HOD Mathematics Mrs Shirley Choo were awarded the prestigious Commendation Medal for their commitment and service to the Singapore education fraternity. Congratulations to both of them for achieving the award!!

2014 & 2015 Excellent Service Award (EXSA)

In recognition of the staff contribution to the school, staff have been nominated for the SPRING Singapore Excellent Service Award (EXSA). EXSA is a national award which recognizes individuals who have delivered quality service to the organization. It also seeks to develop service models for staff to emulate and to create service champions. The award is categorized into Silver, Gold and Star category. In 2015, 15 WGS staff achieved the Star EXSA award, 5 achieved the Gold EXSA award and 3 achieve the EXSA Silver award. Congratulations to all winners of the EXSA award!  


2014 Academy Awards for Professional Development

Congratulations to Mr Aaron Cheng (HOD Student Development) who was awarded the prestigious 2014 Academy Awards for Professional Development by Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST) in recognition for his contribution to the professional development of the teaching fraternity.


2013 Watermark Award

The school would like to congratulate one of our teachers, Ms Lim Bin who received the prestigious Watermark Award. Presented by PUB, recognises individuals who champion the preservation and conservation of water resources. Ms. Lim was affirmed for her outstanding contribution and commitment to protect and raise awareness of Singapore’s precious water resources through her work within and beyond the school level.


Ms Lim has been a key driver for various environmental initiatives such as waterway adoption programmes and Water Efficient Building (Basic) certification in the school. She has been known to be a passionate champion of water conservation efforts; sharing with students tips and strategies to save water and promoting sustainable use of water resources. Her love for the environment, commitment to the cause and efforts in spreading water conservation messages have come to fruition as she has indeed deeply influenced students’ attitudes towards water conservation in and beyond the school.



Ms Lim received her award from the 2nd Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Ms Grace Foo, at the Singapore Environment and Water Awards Ceremony held at the Marina Barrage on September 24.



2013 Academy Awards for Professional Development

The Academy Awards for Professional Development recognise and affirm MOE officers and partners for their contribution to the professional development of the teaching fraternity. There are 3 categories for the Academy Awards: Fellow of the Academy of Singapore Teachers, Associate of the Academy of Singapore Teachers and Partner of the Academy of Singapore Teachers.


Congratulations to Mdm Shuryati Bte Mohd Shariff, Mdm Stella Foo Gim Huay and Mdm Paramjit Kaur for receiving the Associate of the Academy of Singapore Teachers Award (2013) in recognition of their significant contributions toward the professional development of Singapore teachers.

2010 Educator of the Year Award

Mr Oliver Osman Junus received the 2010 Educator of the Year Award from SEMI HIGH TECH U on 01 Dec 2010 for his significant contributions to the workforce education.



AST Appreciation Award

Mdm Paramjit Kaur, Senior Teacher received the Appreciation Award from the Academy of for her significant contributions towards the professional development of fellow teachers.

2010 National Day Efficiency Medal Award

Mr Lee Thong Khim was awarded the National Day Efficiency Medal award for his contributions to the education sector.


2010 MOE Best Suggestion of the Year

The suggestion “Tools for evaluating progress of implementation of IBL in Woodgrove” won the Best Suggestion of the Year. The suggestion was contributed by the three school leaders.
