Music Unit

1. General Music Programme (Lower Secondary)         
The General Music Programme (GMP) is a compulsory subject taken by all lower secondary students. Through the programme, students will receive opportunities to develop the necessary fundamental skills and techniques needed to compose, listen, and perform music. In addition, students will explore world music, and learn to appreciate how music is meaningful and purposeful in any cultural setting.

All GMP music lessons in Woodgrove Secondary School are conducted by Ms Jwen Lim (lim_hui_wen_jwen@moe.edu.sg).

2. MEP (Music Elective Programme – Secondary 1-4)    
The MEP enables students with musical abilities to undertake an enriched 4-year music programme to stretch their talents and develop them to be future leaders in music. Students in the Express course can apply for the Music Elective Programme through our school. Upon successful application, students will take weekly music lessons at other secondary schools / music centers.

3. ‘O’ Level Music (Upper Secondary)  
Students who have attained ABRSM Music Grade 4 or above (in any instrument) for both Theory and Practical are eligible to apply for the ‘O’ Level Music course through the school. Upon successful application, upper secondary ‘O’ level Music students will take weekly music lessons at other secondary schools / music centers.
