Education and Career Exhibition
Woodgrove Secondary School held its inaugural Education and Career Guidance (ECG) Fair on 12 July 2016. Organised as part of the school’s ECG framework which aims to help Woodgrovers realise their dreams, the fair also served as a culmination of career guidance lessons, visits to institutions of higher learning and meaningful discussions between students and their form teachers.
Representatives from the five polytechnics, Innova Junior College, the Institute of Technical Education, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the Singapore Youth Flying Club were invited to advise Woodgrovers on the courses available at their respective institutions. The representatives engaged our students further by addressing their queries and concerns about student life in these institutions. Prior to attending the exhibition, students completed a survey on the ecareers.sg portal which suggested possible career options aligned to their interests and abilities. Students also brought along their personalised ECG Booklet and wrote down the cut-off points for their target courses while interacting with the representatives from the various institutions.
Students and teachers who attended the exhibition agreed that it was a good initiative to nurture Woodgrovers on their ECG journey. It was also observed that students were more willing to seek clarifications directly with the representatives. The school would like to specially thank the Institution of Higher Learning (IHLs) that participated for making the ECG fair a great success.
