Woodgrove Secondary has been recognised as a Design Centre in N7 cluster since 2005. The school has been committed in providing opportunities to develop talents through exposure to design programmes. The school signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Autodesk Asia Pte Ltd in 2007 to set up an 'Autodesk Edulab fully equipped with cuttng edge design software Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Maya. This is the school's commitment to level up students' design capability by providing them with strong foundation and marketable skills in professional 3D design and animation.
The school provides opportunities to develop talents through the exposure to the wide range of design programmes and is constantly looking into streamlining the design programmes to maximize the impact for our students and staffs. The school aims to inculcate ‘design skills’ to all our students and to better prepare them for their entry into Higher Institutions of Learning (HIL).
The school also believes strongly in collaboration with stake holders to bring a rich learning experience for our students. The school works closely with HIL, industrial partners, MOE CPDD to craft out what are the necessary skills that the students would need when they enter HIL. The school is also looking into having customized work attachment with our industrial partners so as to infuse realism into the programme.
The centre has produced 2 publications (INIZIO 1 & 2) showcasing the design projects by students from the 6 Secondary Schools in the N7 Cluster.
