North Zone Sports Carnival (Badminton)

The Physical Education department, together with the assistance of our very own Sports Leaders have successfully planned and executed the North Zone Badminton Carnival. The North Zone Sports Carnival comprised of sports such as badminton, football, netball, floorball and basketball, was organised by the North Zone Sports Development Committee (NZSDC) took place at three different venues (Woodgrove Sec, Christchurch Sec and Innova JC).

The objectives of the North Zone Sports Carnival were as follow:

  • To promote mass participation of sports among the North Zone schools 
  • To provide ‘second stringers’ and non-school team students with a platform to represent their schools at zonal level.

On 16 August, great badminton skills and playing strategies were exhibited by students from 18 participating schools from the North Zone. In addition, values such as sportsmanship, fair play and friendship were reinforced to participating players.
